Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will close his servers next year

Once again, one of Square Enix's games has failed. In a movement that is not surprising, it has been revealed that Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier_, the Battle Royale of the series, will close its servers in early 2023 , just over a year after its original launch.

Through their official Twitter account, the developers have revealed that the servers of Final Fantasy vii: The First Soldier will come to an end on January 11, 2023. Next to this, from today, October 12, it is already impossible to use your real money to buy the game currency. This was what was said about it:

Square

After almost a year jumping with chooses, facing melee fighting and ending enemies from roofs in Midgard, it hurts to have to announce the end of the Final Fantasy VII service: The First Soldier.

Despite our efforts to add frequent updates with new and exciting content, we have not managed to provide the experience we could (and that they deserve), so we have made this difficult decision. We would like to thank everyone for the support they have shown during this year.

Although this news will surely make the players immediately leave this title, Square Enix has mentioned that Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier_ will remain active until its last day . In this way, several events will continue to be carried out, all users can spend the resources they already have at the moment.

Considering that Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier reached the market in November 2021, the Battle Royale only had just over a year alive, at least lasted more in the market than _Babylon’s Fall. In related issues, Phil Spencer still wants to carry Final Fantasy xiv to Xbox. Similarly, Final Fantasy vii remake get a demand.

Editor's note:

Square Enix should realize that their games as a service are not attractive to the public, regardless of what study is developing, or which property is linked to this idea. Hopefully this will clear that we do not want this type of experience by the company.
