PlayStation Insider corroborates rumors of acquisition of Square Enix

The PlayStation member and former writer of Ign Greg Miller have corroborated a rumor that, according to the reports, Sony was in conversations to acquire Square Enix. This happens a few days after Square Enix sold some of his teams to embarrass Group, largely losing his western talent with IP as Deus Ex, Thief and even his Marvel titles. The transfer of Marvel to embarrass titles has created doubts about the future of games as Marvel_vengers, since his future is subject to the approval of Disney. While Square Enix will cling to the teams responsible for IP as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, there are rumors that there could be more.

According to Greg Miller of a little fun, he had heard rumors that PlayStation tried to buy Square Enix a while ago. Both Miller and the journalist Jeff Grubb made fun of a great acquisition related to PlayStation a few weeks ago, but they could not share details. Miller continued to point out that the information he received was not explicit, which means that he was not sure if the whispers he had heard referred to the Western studies of Square Enix or to the Japanese side of the publisher. Grubb had previously declared that he had also heard the rumor of Square Enix's acquisition, but he seemed echoed Miller's thoughts about the lack of clarity in the details. If Sony lost or not a deal with those Western teams is still a mystery. PlayStation remains optimistic in its efforts to acquire more talent, but has not indicated who has put its eyes below.

It is possible that Sony would like to acquire the Japanese teams of Square Enix, but that meant that Western teams should be sold to someone as embarrassing. From now on, there are many more questions than answers. If something is being cooked, we are likely to discover it in the coming months. _ Final Fantasy XVI_ is scheduled to be an exclusive PlayStation, so there is already a strong relationship between the two parts, but only time will say if it is strong enough to merge them.
