Intel socket 1700: Many new motherboards confirmed with alternative chipsets

Cheaper socket 1700 main board come soon

For the Intel Socket 1700 and the Alder Lake CPUs, there are currently only motherboards with the overclocking chipset Z690, which usually cost no less than 180 euros. This makes the purchase of an Alder Lake setting compared to AIDS Ry zen 5000 series in terms of price-performance a bit less worthwhile, especially if you do not want to overclock anyway. Even overclocked can already start at AMD with main board models from about 100 euros. Now Intel has presented numerous new processors for the pedestal 1700 this week, all Non-K models and thus not overclockable. With the new CPUs, socket 1700 main boards should come with other, not suitable for overclocking and at the same time chipping chipsets. Currently, such models are not yet to be ordered in the shops, but all five hardware manufacturers represented in Germany have already recorded appropriate main boards on their websites or at least publishes an official announcement. New are the chipsets B660, H610 and H670, for which we expect timely offers, which are also well below 150 euros. It should be noted that some models need DDR5-RAM, which is currently always sold out. We summarize.

ASUS On a promotion site Asus lists the complete current portfolio of pedestal 1700 main boards with models, which are divided into several series as usual. For the new chipsets Asus, according to the website, soon has the following number of new motherboards for the various series at the start:

ASR OCK At AS Rock you can filter on the overview site of all motherboards after the base 1700 and then the new chipset. You will see that the manufacturer will offer nine B660 motherboards and four H610 and H670 models each.

Bios tar Although Bios tar ranks far behind the large four manufacturers of Asus, As rock, Gigabyte and MSI by the portfolio, there are always some models of the Taiwanese company for several years. New are now two main boards with the chipset H610 for the socket 1700 and four B660 models. Gigabyte With Gigabyte there is an overview of pedestal 1700 models, in which you can then filter after chipsets. The chipset H670 uses Gigabyte — at least for the time being — not, but with the chipset B660, there will be a whopping 24 models alone, the chipset H610 is represented at six new gigabyte motherboards.

MSI So far, the new motherboards have not yet landed on the product websites of MSI. Through a press release we know that there will be several B660 and H610 models, and the MSI Mag H670 Tomahawk Wi-Fi DDR4 is confirmed.
